CAA Mandates Registration With Protector For Work Visa Holders

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has instructed all the airlines operating to and from Pakistan not to let work visa holders aboard the flight without registration with the protector of Emigrants.

In its new directive issued on Monday, the airlines are asked not to issue ‘Ok to Board’ to passengers unless they get registered with the protector.

CAA has advised the airlines to complete this formality at the time of issuing tickets to work visa holders.

In order to overcome this problem, all the airlines operating to and from Pakistan are directed not to issue ‘Ok to Board’ to the holder of employment visa without registration with the protector of Emigrants.

The step was taken after the Board of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BE&OE) received several complaints through the Pakistan Citizen Portal that Emigrants are facing problems due to a lack of awareness about protection on a working visa.

The CAA stated that due to lack of awareness, expatriates miss their flights which creates embarrassment with loss of time and money for foreign employers and workers.

What is Visa Protector?

It is a mandatory registration process for Pakistani nationals going abroad on a work visa. The Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment has established protector offices in various cities where officials stamp your passport after completing this registration process.

  • Kindly enable the protector stamp at the airport. Why must anyone deny boarding because of this stamp? instead of sending a worker back home, the CAA sould facilitate the stamping of the protector stamp at the airports

  • Another money grabbing and time wasting formality by the government.
The protector stamp is absolutely useless and serves no purpose other than to cause hurdles and stress for the traveler.
