FIA Investigates Senior CAA Official in Pilot License Scam Case

The Corporate Crime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has interrogated a senior official of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in connection with a case about the dubious license of pilots.

The FIA has expanded its investigation in the matter, probed the Senior Additional Director (IT), Tahir Umar, and spent a couple of days in the IT sector of the CAA as well.

“Besides grilling Tahir Umar, other officials in the CAA were also interrogated during the two days,” they said.

The FIA was also aided by cybercrime experts to scrutinize the computers and systems that had been used to issue the pilots’ licenses, and the forensic audit will reveal the officers involved in this scam.

“Action will be taken against the officers and staffers involved in the pilot licenses scam,” it said, adding that some CAA officers have been arrested for their alleged involvement in this case.

Note that earlier, the CAA had said that it would expose the network of its employees who are ostensibly involved in the case.
