PM Imran Launches Pakistan’s First-Ever Policy Advisory Portal

Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched Pakistan’s first-ever Policy Advisory Portal under the National Security Division to engage over 100 thinktanks and academia in policymaking.

He made the announcement while addressing the inaugural session of the Islamabad Security Dialogue. While inaugurating the Advisory Portal, the premier appreciated the initiative and remarked that the immensely talented youth will finally get the credit that it deserves.

“This is a step in the right direction,” he declared.

The advisory portal is a dedicated and integrated platform that will enable major thinktanks and universities working on the subject of comprehensive national security to share policy recommendations directly with the national leadership.

The Special Assistant to the PM on National Security Division and Strategic Policy Planning, Dr. Moeed Yusuf, who also spearheaded the development of the portal said, “The aim of the portal is to bridge the gap between intellectuals and policymakers”.

The Islamabad Security Dialogue is a two-day international conference that is being held mostly in a virtual format and is being attended by government officials and local and international experts. Its main theme is ‘Comprehensive Security Framework’ that will aid Pakistan in tapping its undiscovered potential to become a hub of global and regional development. Two of its sessions were held on Wednesday, and three sessions will take place on Thursday. The Chief of Army Staff will inaugurate the event on the second day.

The National Security Division plans to make the Islamabad Security Dialogue an annual event to parallel the world’s leading security dialogues.
