Private Sector Awaits Govt’s Decision on COVID-19 Vaccine Prices

AGP Limited, a Karachi-based pharmaceutical firm, has imported the Russian COVID-19 vaccine at a cost of $22.5 per dose, media reports have claimed.

AGP Limited, the sole distributor of Sputnik V in Pakistan, will supply the vaccine doses to all leading private hospitals and laboratories once the Drug Regulatory Authority (DRAP) notifies its official price.

On Wednesday, AGP Limited received the first batch of Sputnik V consisting of 50,000 doses at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

The federal government has also repealed its decision under which it had allowed the private sector to set the prices of Coronavirus vaccines after importing them.

This development came just hours before the first consignment of privately-imported Russian Coronavirus vaccine, Sputnik V, was due to arrive in Pakistan.
