Police is Registering FIRs for Violating COVID-19 SOPs

The police are making arrests all across Pakistan and filing FIRs for violations of the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) amid the third wave of the pandemic.

The Lahore Police reportedly registered 229 FIRs on Monday, of which 124 are against violators of the SOPs and 105 were against individuals found without safety masks in public. Most of these cases were recorded in the City division areas.

Nineteen FIRs were filed and 43 arrests were made in Peshawar on Monday for the violation of the SOPs. Additionally, 43 cases were registered and 60 violators were arrested in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has launched a helpline for citizens to report violations of the SOPs for coronavirus from anywhere in the country. Its tweet in this regard read:
