Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, has been in terrific form over the past year and has quickly become one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in world cricket. Since 1 January 2020, Rizwan has the best average, 47.05, among the wicket-keeper batsmen who have faced more than 1,000 balls.
Rizwan is followed by India’s Rishabh Pant, who averages 44.50 during the same period. England’s Jos Buttler is next, averaging 35.57 since 2020. Rizwan’s impressive performances have earned him plaudits in the cricketing fraternity, and the experts have admired his never say die attitude and his crafty strokeplay.

No wicket-keepers other than the three mentioned above have played more than 1,000 balls since 1 January 2020. This stat highlights the importance of the three wicket-keepers to their respective teams.

Rizwan is not only admired for his batting prowess, but he is also one of the finest wicket-keepers in world cricket today. His work behind the stumps has been phenomenal, and according to the statistics, his catching percentage against spin in Test matches is 100 percent. Since 2010, there is no other wicket-keeper in Test cricket that has a better record against spin than Mohammad Rizwan.
Rizwan’s impressive form across all formats has also caused a selection dilemma to the Pakistan team management. It remains to be seen whether Rizwan will open the innings in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa or will Pakistan opt for a more natural opening partnership of Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman
