Mohammad Amir’s Demand in T20 Leagues Continues to Rise After Retirement

Mohammad Amir is one of the hottest commodities in T20 leagues ever since he announced his retirement from international cricket last year. He took part in the inaugural Lanka Premier League (LPL), then participated in the Abu Dhabi T10 league, and will also be a part of the inaugural season of The Hundred.

According to reports, several English counties are also interested in signing Amir for this season’s T20 Blast.

Renowned cricket journalist, Sajid Sadiq, took to Twitter to reveal the interest of various counties in Mohammad Amir.

Amir will be available to play in the T20 Blast after the completion of the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). According to reports, PSL 6 is likely to resume in June, but the dates of the tournament have not been finalized yet. Amir is a part of the Karachi Kings squad and played all five of their matches before the league was postponed.

Amir has a fantastic record in domestic T20s. He has picked up 220 wickets at an average of 22.50 and an economy rate of 7.09 in 190 matches. He has taken part in various franchise T20 leagues including PSL, LPL, and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Amir shocked the cricketing world when he announced his retirement from international cricket in December 2020. He said that he will no longer play for Pakistan under the current team management of head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq, and bowling coach, Waqar Younis. He claimed that he was mentally tortured by the two and despite his best efforts, he was made the scapegoat for Pakistan’s bowling failures.
