KP Adds New Features to Marastyal App to Provide Relief to Citizens During Ramadan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has integrated new features in its ‘Marastyal’ smartphone application in order to facilitate citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

The move is a part of the KP government’s broader ‘Ramadan Strategy’ under which district administrations have been tasked to extend maximum relief to the public by monitoring and controlling prices of essential commodities and establishing Sasta Bazars and Kissan Markets.

Following the addition of the latest features, the Marastyal application users can now locate their nearest Sasta Bazars, Kissan Markets, and Utility Stores where essential commodities will be available at affordable prices. Official rate lists issued by respective district administrations can be viewed in the application as well.

Besides, users can also report illegal acts such as profiteering, hoarding, selling adulterated or substandard edible items, failure of shopkeepers to display official rate lists, or selling overpriced essential commodities to respective district administrations.

Last year in November, KP’s Performance Management and Reforms Unit (PMRU) had launched the Marastyal application.

Aside from Ramadan-related services, the application also allows users to file complaints such as violations of COVID-19 SOPs, presence of suspected Coronavirus patients, encroachment, and garbage.

Marastyal application is available on both Google Play and App Store.
