Police Recovers 14 Year Old Who Staged His Own Kidnapping

The police have reportedly recovered a 14-year-old who had disappeared from outside his tuition center in Lalamusa, Punjab.

Adnan Shahzad, a police officer working on the case, said that it had been revealed that the boy had staged his own kidnapping to avoid taking classes at the tuition center.

The officials overseeing the investigation had initially considered it to be a kidnapping because a note demanding Rs. 500,000 in ransom for the missing boy had been found in his bag that been left unattended outside the tuition center. Its discovery had prompted the concerned authorities to register an initial inquiry for his kidnapping.

The police and the boy’s relatives had then circulated his picture in the area and on social media sites, according to a police official. The following day, a citizen had spotted the missing boy and notified the police.

The police report on the case concluded that the boy had bunked at a friend’s shop from where he was recovered, and was immediately returned to his family.

The report added that the ransom note found in the bag had been written by the teenager himself, citing remarks that no one else had been involved.
