Cambridge Announces Its COVID-19 SOPs Plan for Exams

Cambridge International Examinations, in coordination with the British Council, has informed schools, parents, and students that all its examinations will be conducted under the strict implementation of all the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The development came days after Cambridge, following a nod from the federal government, announced that it would conduct the O-Level, A-Level, and IGCSE examinations from 10 May onward in Pakistan.

Furthermore, the AS-Level and A-Level examinations will commence as per the current timetable, with the first one scheduled for 26 April.

While commenting on the development, the Country Director of Cambridge International, Uzma Yousuf said,

We have been working closely with the federal and provincial governments, who have given us extensive support and advice, to ensure we run exams safely, and securely for our students.

She stated that the students who do not want to take the examinations this year may withdraw their entries, and take any future examination series without any additional financial burden.

Cambridge had introduced extensive measures earlier this year to support schools and students to ensure the conduction of the examinations in the May/June 2021 series, including adjustments to assessments and exemptions from the components that are difficult to run during the pandemic.
