Punjab Suspends 62 SHOs in a Single Day

62 Punjab Police Station House Officers (SHOs) from all over the province were suspended on Thursday on account of bribery and corruption.

Marching orders of 48 SHOs were issued from Central Police Office (CPO) Lahore while the remaining were suspended by their respective District Police Officers (DPOs).

The development follows IG Punjab’s order from earlier this week to depose all SHOs with criminal records.

Faisalabad recorded the highest number of suspended SHOs with 8 while 7 SHOs in Lahore were also sent packing.

5 SHOs were suspended in Sheikhupura while 4 SHOs were suspended in Kasur. 3 SHOs each in Gujrat, Nankana Sahib, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Khanewal, and Bahawalnagar were also suspended.

2 SHOs were sent home in Bahawalpur, Pakpattan, and Sargodha while 1 SHO each in Sialkot, Narowal, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Multan, Vehari, Lodhran, Sahiwal, and Mandi Bahauddin was also deposed.
