Govt Orders Private Schools & Colleges to Reduce Fees by 20%

The federal government has directed all private educational institutes in Islamabad to reduce monthly fee by 20% amid the ongoing deadly third wave of Coronavirus.

According to the official notification issued by the Education Ministry, private institutes are required to decrease the monthly fee by 20% with effect from April 2021 till their reopening.

However, private institutes charging a monthly tuition fee of less than Rs. 8,000 will remain exempted from the latest order.

In case the fee challan for April and May 2021 has already been issued or the fee has been paid before the announcement of the concession policy, private institutes are directed to adjust the fee next month.

On the other hand, the Education Ministry has also requested parents and guardians to submit the fee on time.

Note that the administration of schools is a devolved subject under the 18th Amendment and it is the prerogative of respective provincial governments to make decisions regarding reducing the monthly school fee during closure.
