Xiaomi is releasing major software updates one after another. The MIUI 12.5 came soon after the MIUI 12’s release, containing significant updates over the previous version. Despite many Xiaomi devices still waiting for MIUI 12.5 around the world, we are already getting close to seeing the MIUI 13.

According to rumors, the MIUI 13 is expected to release during the second quarter of this year, on Friday, June 25, 2021, to be precise.
The source also mentions that Xioami will unfortunately not be releasing MIUI 13 for some older models including 2019’s Mi 9 series. This may also include the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, the Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, and some others.
The Mi 9 has already received the MIUI 12.5 update and some older devices including Mi MIX 2S and Mi 8 series will also be upgraded to MIUI 12.5, but they won’t be getting MIUI 13.
The source does not talk about software updates coming with the MIUI 13 patch. But given the track record of previous updates, we can expect to see visual changes, new security features and improvements, new animations, and battery life improvements.
Keep in mind that there is still no official word from Xiaomi regarding MIUI 13, so we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt.
