One such incident occurred in a match in New Delhi, where a bookie was employed as a cleaner in the stadium. The details of the match have not been revealed, but the corrupt approaches have been reported by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Anti Corruption Unit Chief, Shabbir Hussain Shekhadam.

Hussain reported that although the bookie fled the scene, his details have been reported to Delhi Police. Hussain explained that the ACU was suspicious of the individual when they saw him standing alone, talking on his mobile phone in a secluded area. The individual handed over two phones when confronted by the officer and fled the scene as the officer was going through the contents of the phone.
