The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has decided to take the matter of the reopening of schools to the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference (IPEMC).
In a meeting on Tuesday, the attendees of the session discussed the overall pandemic situation across Pakistan and the reopening of educational institutes.

They agreed to have the board examinations conducted across the country under strict COVID-19 SOPs.
It was also decided that a meeting of the IPEMC would be called before 23 May to discuss the reopening of educational institutes and the finalization of the board exam schedule. The NCOC suggested that the schools be reopened for Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12 in the first phase.
Earlier, the Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood, had clarified on several occasions that the board examinations will be held eventually. According to one of his recent tweets, the examinations will be scheduled after 15 June.

He also announced in another tweet that the IPEMC has decided to conduct the board examinations after mid-June. The Intermediate and Matriculation examinations will be given priority so that their results may be declared before universities open their admissions.
