Firefox Gets a Fresh New Look With More Features

Yesterday, Mozilla launched Firefox with a new design. One of the main changes is the whole new look for tabs. Firefox tabs are now bigger than they used to be, and the one in use will float above the toolbar near the top of the browser. In other browsers, the opened tab appears to be directly attached to the toolbar.

According to Mozilla, with the redesign, its main focus was on reducing “distractions, extra clicks and wasted time.” Hence, now, notifications take up less space and users will get fewer alerts and messages. Moreover, overall, the alerts and messages will feature a “clean and clear” design and language to make them less jarring.

In addition to this, the company has also made it easier to mute and unmute noisy tabs. All you have to do is click or tap on the tab to mute or unmute it. The toolbar and the hamburger menu are also simpler now. Mozilla has consolidated extra menus to reduce clutter and has added actions people use most often in a place where they’re easiest to access.

Another new chic feature is that the shield icon located inside the URL bar will glow to indicate Firefox’s enhanced privacy protections are working in the background. The company has also revamped the browser’s privacy mode. The Total Cookie Protection feature is now on by default when using the tool. For iOS, Mozilla has reduced the number of steps it takes to use some of the browser’s key features.

The update has already been rolled out. If you have not received it yet, you can manually download it from the settings.
