Huawei Watch 3 Announced With Harmony OS and 7-Day Battery Life

Huawei took the stage yesterday at its Harmony OS event in China to unveil a number of new devices featuring the company’s in-house OS. This includes the new Huawei MatePad and the Huawei Watch 3 series.

The Huawei Watch 3 series includes the base Watch 3 and the Watch 3 Pro, both of which are premium wearables set apart by their materials, battery life, and more.

Let’s have a look.

Huawei Watch 3

Huawei Watch 3 comes with a circular 1.43” AMOLED display that is slightly bigger than previous generations but has much smaller bezels. It can reach a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits and has a pixel density of 326 PPI.

The screen is protected by strengthened glass, the frame is steel, but the back is made out of ceramic. There is also 5 ATM water and dust resistance.

Huawei has replaced the button on the top right with a rotating crown, which is more weather resistant according to Huawei. The flat button on the bottom right is still there.

The brand has not mentioned a chipset, but the watch comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage.

The wearable comes with a variety of sensors including heart rate, blood-oxygen (SpO2), and a skin temperature sensor. These work 24/7 along with sleep tracking to let you spot any possible health issues.

There are over 100 workout modes and 17 of these are professional ones including indoor and outdoor activity.

Standard battery life is 3 days with 4G enabled, but can be extended up to 7 days with Smart Modeor 14 days with Ultra Long Lasting Mode. Charging can only be done wirelessly.

The Huawei Watch 3 will go for sale in China next week for $410.

Huawei Watch 3 Pro

As mentioned earlier, the Pro sibling has more battery life, different materials, but also an extra feature.

The Watch 3 Pro is slightly bigger and is made out of titanium instead of steel. This one has a more classic look so the display bezel is there. This display is protected by Sapphire glass for more durability.

Standard battery life is bumped up to 5 days but can hit up to 21 days with the Ultra Long Lasting mode.

The Huawei Watch 3 Pro is one of the few smartwatches in the world to bring dual-band GPS for more accurate and stable position reading even in crowded areas.

The wearable will be available in China next week for $515.
