Hundreds of Schengen Visa Stickers Stolen From Italian Embassy

In a strange theft incident, 1,000 Schengen visa stickers were stolen from the Italian embassy in Islamabad.

According to the details, the embassy informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 16 June regarding the theft of the visa stickers from the locker room of the Italian Embassy, seeking help in investigating the matter after which the ministry shared information with the relevant departments to take an “appropriate action”.

Foreign Office Spokesperson, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, said, “The information was immediately shared with the concerned authorities to take appropriate action in this regard”.

The ministry informed the Interior Ministry and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) about the theft and requested them to keep track of the visa stickers at all entry and exit points and inform about any action to ministry.

According to the available information, 750 of the stolen stickers have serial numbers ranging from ITA041913251 to ITA041914000 while 250 have numbers from ITA041915751 to ITA041916000.
