Karachi Ranked Among Most Stressful Cities in the World

Karachi is ranked the seventh most stressful city in the world to live in.

A German company, VAAY, has ranked the world’s most stressful urban cities to live in by analyzing structural and environmental factors including safety, unemployment rate, air pollution, density, social security, mental health, and access to healthcare among others.

Finn Age Hänsel, the co-founder of VAAY, said, “Our objective with this study is to show what cities can achieve for their citizens through effective governance, robust environmental policies, and well-resourced social welfare systems”.

“The aim is not to single out the cities which may lag behind in any of these areas, but rather highlight those which are leading examples of what can be done to improve the well-being of their inhabitants,” he added.

VAAY ranked a hundred cities in which Karachi stood at 93rd position, making it the seventh most stressful city on the list.

India’s largest city, Mumbai was ranked the most stressful city followed by Lagos, and Manila while Reykjavik in Iceland was ranked the least stressful city followed by Bern and Helsinki.
