183 Buildings in Rawalpindi Could Collapse Due to Monsoon

After the start of the monsoon, Rawalpindi’s civic agencies have declared 183 old buildings and certain cantonment areas ‘dangerous’.

Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) has declared 83 buildings dangerous and the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) declared 100 buildings unsafe after conducting a survey of the old and dilapidated buildings in the city. Forty-five of these buildings were marked ‘most dangerous’ by the agencies, and they have issued notices to the residents to either vacate or reconstruct them.
