The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) agreed to make vaccination certificates mandatory for domestic air travel on Tuesday in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
The new restrictions will come into effect across Pakistan on 1 August and entails that domestic travelers will only be permitted to board flights after producing valid vaccination certificates.

The attendees of the session agreed to seek the services of the Pakistan Army for better implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all the major cities to control the transmission of the coronavirus during the Eid holidays and afterward.
Prior to this, the NCOC had made vaccination certificates mandatory for tourists.

It had recently issued a high alert for the impending fourth wave of the pandemic ahead of Eid ul Adha and had urged the public to wear face masks, particularly in high-risk areas.
“The provinces have been issued detailed directives for strict implementation on SOPs,” it had said.
