Former Pakistan fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, has predicted that Pakistan will be crowned as the T20 World Champions by defeating arch-rivals India in the final of the tournament.

Akhtar said that the conditions in the UAE would favor the teams from the sub-continent, and he feels that Pakistan and India will make full use of the advantage and book their place in the final.
Rawalpindi Express believes that Pakistan will lift the trophy and break the curse of not winning a World Cup match against India. Pakistan has a woeful record against their rivals in ICC World Cups, losing all 11 encounters, including six in ODI World Cups and 5 in T20I World Cups.
“I have a feeling Pakistan and India will play in the T20 World Cup final, and India will lose to Pakistan. Conditions in UAE will favor both India and Pakistan,” Akhtar said.

Pakistan and India have been placed in the same group in the mega event along with Afghanistan, New Zealand, and two qualifiers. After the end of the group stages, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
The T20 World Cup was set to be played in India, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was shifted to UAE and Oman in October and November of this year. The tournament will begin on 17 October in Oman, with the final scheduled to be played on 14 November in UAE.
