Apple’s next iPhone launch is only a month away and it’s about time we start seeing more details on the upcoming iPhones. The latest report comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who claims that the iPhone 13 could launch without Touch ID.

According to his report, Apple does not plan to launch iPhones with Touch ID this year but wants to add it in the future. He adds that Apple has “long-term plans” of adding Face ID under the display.
He says that there are two possible scenarios – one that high-end iPhones will get in-display Face ID and the low-end models will stick to the regular Face ID in the notch. The other possibility is that high-end iPhones will get in-display Face ID and the cheaper models will get in-display Touch ID instead.
The iPhone 13 is expected to feature a smaller display notch and a 120Hz refresh rate for the first time, at least in the Pro models. Some reports claim that the phones will also offer up to 1TB storage this time around.
They will feature bigger batteries this time thanks to new space-saving internal circuitry. The report also claims that there will be mmWave 5G for countries outside of the United States. The currently available 22W fast charging may see a slight upgrade to 25W.
The biggest upgrade, however, will be the A15 Bionic chipset manufactured on TSMC’s 5nm process. It is said to be faster and much more power-efficient.
There is no word on a launch date yet, but it is expected to happen in late September or early October.
