Two more Pakistani players, Ali Salman and Usman Shaukat, also enjoyed a good run in the tournament but narrowly missed out on the top ten after failing to win their last games.

Pakistan’s first-place finish in the championship has led them to be awarded the hosting rights for next year’s edition of the WESPA Youth Cup. The championship takes place annually since 2006 in various parts of the world but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was canceled last year. This year, the tournament was held virtually as players from around the world competed online for the crown of the World Youth Scrabble Champion.
