Qantas Flight Lands in Pakistan on Rare Boeing 787 Charter Flight

The VH-ZNK Qantas 787-9 Dreamliner, which is reportedly operating to relocate people evacuated from Afghanistan, landed in Islamabad on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the details, hawk-eyed plane spotters noticed a Qantas 787-9 Dreamliner in Pakistan after itsĀ 7,989 km nonstop flight from Darwin.

Qantas has been operating repatriation flights to various destinations across the globe and had previously operated repatriation flights from Pakistan as well.

Whether the flight that landed in Islamabad was for Australian citizens, permanent residents, and visa holders in dire straits, was relocating Australians evacuated from Afghanistan or had another purpose is currently unknown.

Qantas and Australiaā€™s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) have reportedly not commented on the matter yet.

In other news, Qantas is preparing for international travel and is accepting bookings on services to London, Vancouver, and Singapore from 18 December onward.
