PTCL Group’s Covid-19 Vaccination Drive Is the Largest in Pakistan’s Telecom Sector

The PTCL Group’s large-scale country-wide coronavirus vaccination drive is going on in full swing with PTCL’s Medical Centers offering Covid-19 vaccination to PTCL employees and their families across all major parts of the country.

In June this year, the Group announced its commitment to supporting its 26,000 employees – as well as its contractual employees and their dependents – with Covid-19 vaccination in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan.

The PTCL Group, one of the country’s largest telecom groups and the backbone of connectivity in Pakistan, has the highest number of employees across the country, from metropolitan cities to the smallest villages of Pakistan. Through this inoculation drive, the Group is taking care of its large employee base in both PTCL & Ufone.

In addition, PTCL has also launched an e-medical portal for its employees to access facilities for online consultation, OPD, and medical reports. In case of emergency, Medical Helpline and Online Support are also available for its employees and their families across Pakistan.

To date, 11,433 people have gotten vaccinated through the PTCL Covid-19 vaccination drive at PTCL Medical Centers across the country. This is being facilitated by the special Covid-19 vaccination camps set up daily at PTCL Medical Center Nazimabad, Karachi, and on every Saturday at PTCL Medical Center G-8/4, Islamabad.

Other vaccination camps have been set up at PTCL’s 16 different Medical Centers countrywide including Mardan, D.I. Khan, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur, and Quetta. The Group is ensuring strict observance of all Covid-19 SOPs to make the vaccination drive safe and effective.

The Covid-19 situation in Pakistan is still far from being stable. About 1.2 million infections have been reported so far with over 26,000 lives having been claimed by the deadly virus to date. Parts of the country are repeatedly undergoing sporadic lockdowns with restrictions on movement, dining, and social gatherings returning every now and then.

Everything from business to employment and education has been upended by the pandemic that shows little signs of abating. Getting vaccinated en masse presents the only hope of us overcoming the virus but people’s generic disinclination, coupled with baseless rumors around vaccines, is only making matters worse.

PTCL’s large-scale vaccination drive supports Pakistan’s national battle against Covid-19 and provides some hope of returning to the ‘old normal’ where people led their lives fear-free, keeping businesses running and contributing to Pakistan’s socio-economic progress.
