A small Pakistan Air Force (PAF) trainer aircraft crashed near Mardan on Wednesday morning, a PAF spokesperson said on Wednesday.
According to the press release, the aircraft was on a routine training mission when it developed a technical fault and crashed in open fields of Ganderi Risalpur area of Nowshera, about 21 kilometers from Mardan.
“A board of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident,” it added.
According to Samaa.tv, the pilot lost his life in the accident as he failed to eject in time.
Raw footage from the crash scene shows huge plumes of smoke rising in the air. The aircraft, on the other hand, was reduced to ashes.
