Kia Drops a Hint on Stonic’s Official Unveiling in New Teaser

After numerous spottings and a good deal of speculations from car enthusiasts, Kia Lucky Motor Corporation has finally launched an official teaser for the upcoming Stonic SUV on its social media. Without revealing too much, it has hinted that the vehicle is likely to be revealed to the masses next week.

The Stonic is Kia’s subcompact crossover SUV that rivals the Honda Vezel/HR-V, the Nissan Juke, the Toyota C-HR, the Proton X50, the MG ZS, and the DFSK Glory 500. The photos of its test units broke the internet earlier this year, unofficially announcing Kia’s intentions to launch it in Pakistan before the end of 2021.

Although the official details of the SUV for the Pakistani market are still unknown, it has been reported that it will be available in three variants that will reportedly be offered here with a 1.4 liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 100 hp and 134 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

In the international market, the Stonic features adaptive cruise control, automatic climate control, a push start button, dual airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist technology, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic Stability Control, and Hill Start Assist Control among other options.

Although the price has not been disclosed yet, it is reckoned that the Stonic will be sold between Rs. 3.7 million and Rs. 4.1 million, which will put it at an advantage against the likes of a new MG ZS which costs upwards of Rs. 4 million.

The anxiousness surrounding the launch of the Stonic is at an all-time high with the enthusiasts and SUV lovers now waiting for the big reveal next week.
