Grace Marks Policy Approved as Punjab Boards Announce Date for Matric & Inter Results

All education boards in Punjab have decided to announce the matriculation and intermediate results by 16 October after the approval of the grace marks policy by the Punjab government.

The Secretary Higher Education Punjab, Javed Iqbal Bukhari, said on Wednesday that Chief Minister, Usman Buzdar, and his cabinet have approved the summary of grace marks for matriculation and intermediate results. He said that the Chief Minister has also directed the education boards to release the results within 48 hours.

The policy of grace marks had been approved during the Inter-Provincial Educational Ministers Conference (IPEMC) last month but required a final nod from the provincial government for implementation.

The intermediate results were scheduled to be released by 30 September and matric results by 16 October across Punjab. As per reports, all BISEs had already prepared results and were awaiting the approval of the summary for granting flat 33 marks to failing students.

Now that the approval has come, all nine education boards, including, BISE Lahore, BISE Multan, BISE Gujranwala, BISE Bahawalpur, BISE DG Khan, BISE Faisalabad, BISE Rawalpindi, BISE Sargodha, BISE Board, and BISE Sahiwal have announced to release of SSC and HSSC Part-II results within 48 hours.

The development will ease off the worries of over 1.4 million Grade 10 and 12 students that had registered with different education boards in Punjab and had been awaiting the results.
