Lahore Airport is the Most Dangerous in Terms of Bird Strikes

Lahore airport has emerged as the most vulnerable airport to bird strike incidents, a recent countrywide report compiled by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has revealed.

According to the details released in the report, there have been sixty bird strike incidents in just nine months. Twenty-one out of these cases were reported in Lahore airport, thirteen in Islamabad, eight in Karachi, six in Peshawar, and four in Sukkur Airport.

One bird strike incident each was reported in Quetta and Multan airports.

The report further revealed that a total of 21 flights in Lahore were struck by birds during this period.

Only last week, an Istanbul-bound plane was struck by a bird soon after take-off from Lahore airport, as a result of which it suffered damage. The pilot was able to land the aircraft safely back at Allama Iqbal International Airport after getting approval from the Civil Aviation Authority.
