PITB Develops Pakistan’s First Imported Sugar Tracking System

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Punjab Food Department have collaborated to develop Pakistan’s first imported sugar tracking system to ensure transparency and accountability.

The Punjab Information Technology Board tweeted that the “Imported Sugar Tracking System is the first of its kind digitized system developed by PITB for Punjab Food Department”.

The system provides dispatch, receiving, transit, payment, and vessel details.

The tracking system is operational in Punjab and will ensure that operations from port dispatches to sales are conducted smoothly and efficiently.

It will also allow the district government to track the dispatches and transits of the received and sold sugar across the province in a timely manner. It will also provide an option to record the payments against those consignments.

This initiative will not just facilitate the government but also the relevant stakeholders by ensuring end-to-end tracking of sugar from the port to the distributors to its sale.
