Earthquake Hits Major Cities in Pakistan

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 struck several major cities in Pakistan on earlier today (19 July), causing shockwaves in places like Islamabad and Lahore.

The epicenter of the 4.5-magnitude earthquake, as per the Volcano Discovery, was found to be in the Hindu Kush region, located in Afghanistan.

It originated deep underground, approximately 205 kilometers below the surface.

However, a slight difference in the recorded magnitude has been reported by different sources. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center Islamabad, the earthquake’s magnitude was measured to be 5.1 and its depth was recorded at around 208 kilometers.

The affected cities, including Haripur, Kamra, Rawalpindi, Hawelian, Islamabad, Lahore, and Muzzafarabad, experienced widespread concern and fear as the ground shook.

People reported feeling weak vibrations, causing some disruptions and fear among the public.
