Maxwell entered the game aggressively, taking on the Dutch bowlers and accumulating a total of 106 runs in only 44 balls, which included 17 boundaries consisting of nine fours and eight sixes.

It should be noted that the previous fastest-century record belonged to South African batter Aiden Markram, who hit a hundred in 49 balls against Sri Lanka in this mega event at the same venue where Maxwell set the record.

David Warner scored his 22nd hundred, making 104 runs, while Steven Smith added 71 runs before they were both dismissed. Maxwell then propelled Australia to a mammoth total of 399-8 runs.

On the other hand, Dutch medium-pace bowler Bas de Leede, posted his worst ODI bowling figures, conceding 115 runs in 10 overs while taking 2 wickets. This performance saw him surpass records previously held by Mick Lewis and Adam Zampa.
