The final round of talks between the traders and the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) field formations would be held tomorrow (Friday) to finalize the modalities for payment of monthly tax under the Tajir Dost Scheme.
Sources told ProPakistani that the Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) and representatives of trade bodies in 42 cities would hold an online meeting to discuss the FBR’s proposed tables for payment of monthly taxes.
The representatives of retailers/traders and the tax officials of the RTOs would discuss the draft of the valuation tables and finalize their recommendations to the Board.
The FBR will notify the final tables by Monday next week based on recommendations of Friday’s meeting, sources added.
The FBR has proposed valuation tables of markets in 42 cities with indicative income, estimated annual tax on such income and monthly tax installment for traders, shopkeepers and retailers.
The markets have been divided into three categories of posh areas, medium areas and poor areas for payment of fixed amount of monthly tax installment.
