CDA Approves New Projects Worth Rs. 8 Billion for Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Development Working Party held its 70th meeting on Thursday, chaired by CDA chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting approved four development projects totaling over Rs8 billion.

Senior officials from the Ministries of Interior, Planning, and Finance attended the meeting. A major project for building underpasses at Serena Chowk/Convention Centre was approved to improve traffic flow from Srinagar Highway, Khyaban-e-Suharwardy, and Murree Road.

The Rs4.56 billion project will include underpasses on both sides of Serena Chowk and Srinagar Highway and will be completed in six months. It will also feature three loops towards Khyaban-e-Suharwardy.

Another project worth Rs3.99 billion was approved to manage traffic at the junction of 9th Avenue and Jinnah Avenue. This project will include an underpass, a flyover, and protected U-turns.

Furthermore, a Rs98.88 million project for Resource Planning/Financial Management System was approved. The meeting also approved Rs53.03 million for hiring a consultant firm to establish a four-tier data center in Islamabad.
