The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has alerted the public about the likelihood of heavy rains, urban flooding, and landslides across various parts of Pakistan in the next three days.
The NDMA’s National Emergency Operations Center has predicted heavy rainfall between 50 to 100 mm or more, which could lead to flooding in local rivers and urban areas.
Cities like Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi are particularly vulnerable to urban flooding due to the heavy downpour overwhelming drainage systems.
Mountain regions such as Guliyat, Kashmir, Kohistan, Mansehra, and Murree might face potential landslides and flash floods from the expected rain.
Provincial Disaster Management Authorities and local administrations have been instructed to take preventive measures to protect at-risk communities. This includes ensuring proper drainage and addressing any reported blockages swiftly.
Residents are encouraged to manage drainage around their homes and report any issues to local authorities immediately. Travelers and tourists should be cautious and stay updated on weather conditions via the “Pak NDMA Disaster Alert” mobile app.
