Lahore Bans Heavy Bikes From Accessing Key Area

Lahore Traffic Police have banned heavy motorcycles from CBD Main Boulevard following complaints about street racing, excessive noise and dangerous riding.

Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi declared the boulevard a no-go area for heavy bikers. He also ordered traffic officials to take strict action against anyone violating the restriction.

The decision aims to prevent groups of riders from using the road for racing and other activities that may endanger motorists, pedestrians and nearby residents.

According to the traffic police, some heavy bikers had been gathering on the boulevard and disrupting normal traffic movement.

Authorities said riders would not be allowed to race, perform one-wheeling, block the road or engage in other forms of disorderly behaviour.

Crackdown on Speeding and Reckless Riding

The CTO warned that speeding remains one of the leading causes of fatal road accidents.

Therefore, traffic police will increase enforcement against riders who exceed speed limits or violate other road safety rules.

Officials may stop heavy motorcycles attempting to enter the restricted road and take legal action against riders who ignore police instructions.

However, the announcement does not specify whether the restriction applies during particular hours or remains in force throughout the day.

It also does not provide details about engine-capacity limits, fines or exemptions for individual heavy-bike owners using the road without joining racing groups.

Parents Asked to Monitor Young Riders

The CTO also urged parents to monitor young motorcyclists and discourage them from taking part in racing, one-wheeling and other dangerous activities.

He said road safety required cooperation between citizens and law-enforcement authorities.

Lahore Traffic Police have intensified operations against reckless motorcycling across the city in recent years.

The latest restriction places particular focus on CBD Main Boulevard, which has attracted riders because of its wide roads and modern infrastructure.

Motorcyclists have been advised to avoid the restricted route and comply with directions issued by traffic wardens.
