FBR to Take Action Against Two Appraisers on Corruption Charges

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to start disciplinary proceedings against two appraisers on charges of alleged corruption.

Sources told ProPakistani that FBR, with the approval of member administration, has written a letter to the Collector Customs Islamabad International Airport with regard to complaint against appraisers.

Sources said that the Collectorate of Customs Islamabad Airport forwarded the complaint to board on 2/7/2024, and it has been decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against principal appraiser Sarfaraz Ahmed and Tahir Khan on the charges of inefficiency, misconduct and corruption under the Civil Servant Rules 2020.

Draft order of inquiry along with charge sheet and statement of allegations under the Civil Servants Rules on the charges of inefficiency, misconduct, and corruption may be provided for this this purpose.

It may also be considered whether both the above-mentioned accused officers are required to be placed under suspension under rule 5(1) of the Civil servant rule 2020 or otherwise.
