Several international and domestic flights faced cancellations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Thursday, according to a private news channel.
Among those affected were PIA flight PK-2010 bound for Dubai and PIA flight PK-503 scheduled for Gwadar. AirSial’s PF-143 flight to Lahore and Serene Air’s ER-502 flight to Islamabad were also among the canceled flights.
Furthermore, SereneAir’s ER-504 to Islamabad and AirBlue’s PA-200 to Islamabad were cancelled. The cancellations of PIA’s PK-306 to Lahore and SereneAir’s ER-522 to Lahore added to the disruptions at the airport.
In separate news, a security team from Transport Canada concluded their audit of Jinnah International Airport on Wednesday. The Airport Security Force (ASF) stated that the team thoroughly examined the airport’s security measures and deemed them satisfactory.
During the audit, the ASF team, including National Inspectors, provided a detailed briefing to the Transport Canada delegation. They covered security deployment, entry control, screening procedures, pass issuance, and emergency response protocols.
Transport Canada appreciated ASF’s efforts in enhancing safety measures, particularly for Pakistan International Airlines’ direct flights to Canada. The Canadian team also expressed their satisfaction with the overall aviation security standards at Pakistan’s international airports.
