Pakistan Players Still Not Able to Get NOCs from GT20 in Canada

Fourth edition of the Global T20 Canada League is set to run from July 25 to August 11. However, it still needs ICC approval, which is expected soon. Reports suggest that the organizers haven’t yet paid their fees to Cricket Canada, and the event will only get the green light once this is settled.

Reports suggest that an Indian team owner is under investigation for suspicious activities, with more details expected soon. The ICC has chosen not to comment on these matters.

Pakistani cricketers Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz have joined the Toronto Nationals, while Mohammad Rizwan has been named captain of the Vancouver Knights, with Babar Azam and Mohammad Amir also on the same team.

Despite this, the PCB has not granted NOCs to these players because the ICC has not approved the tournament. Additionally, the PCB recently announced plans to create a policy to limit players’ participation in various leagues to manage their workload, though specific details are still pending.

ICC’s non-approval of the Global T20 league in Canada is one of the biggest reasons that the NOCs have not been issued to Pakistani players. Seven cricketers from Pakistan will participate in the upcoming season of the Canadian T20 league.
