Contrary to previous reports suggesting the iPhone SE 4 would share the same design as the iPhone 14, new information from China indicates a different path for Apple’s budget-friendly model.
A prominent Weibo (Chinese social media) tipster, Fixed Focus Digital, claims the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will feature a back cover identical to the standard iPhone 16, making it difficult to differentiate between the two devices from the rear.
This would also mean that the iPhone SE will finally have a much bigger size, giving it room for a much bigger battery and screen. More space also allows for easier cooling, which is useful during gaming and more.
The design of the iPhone SE 4’s camera setup remains uncertain. While early leaks depicted a single camera housed within a notched display, recent information suggests a potential shift in design.
With the iPhone 16 rumored to feature a vertically aligned dual camera system, there’s a possibility the iPhone SE 4 might adopt a similar configuration. A larger phone size also means more space to fit in bigger camera sensors, resulting in higher image quality. Bigger sensors can take in and process more light coming from the lens. This means bigger pixels that can capture a greater range of colors and shades too.
But all these upgrades would also put the price tag in question, as previous iPhone SE models have been far more affordable than the main lineup of iPhones. We will have to wait and see. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 series in September, while the iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to launch in March of the following year.
