Rapid Increase in Dengue Mosquitos Expected in Lahore

The start of the rainy season in Lahore has resulted in a surge of dengue mosquitos. Over the past 24 hours, dengue larvae have been found at more than a thousand sites across the city.

Dengue surveillance teams have been actively destroying larvae found at various locations to curb the disease’s spread. According to reports, larvae were detected at 1,132 sites throughout Lahore.

Surveillance teams have issued 1,074 notices for breaches of dengue SOPs in the past 24 hours to combat dengue. Furthermore, 58 cases have been filed for serious violations of these procedures.

Lahore Deputy Commissioner Raafia Haider highlighted the efforts of dengue surveillance teams, stating that 603 cases have been filed this year for breaches of dengue SOPs.

She assured the public that the surveillance teams are actively working during the rainy season to address the heightened risk of mosquito breeding.

The local government is urging residents to follow dengue prevention guidelines closely and cooperate with surveillance teams to help control the spread of dengue fever in the community.
