For the first time in Pakistan’s history, women have been appointed as firefighters, as reported by 24NewsHD TV Channel on Wednesday.
According to the channel’s report, Sindh Rescue 1122 has recruited 72 female firefighters.
Dr. Abid, Director General of Sindh Rescue 1122, stated that these female firefighters are fully capable of handling any fire incidents in Karachi with ease.
He also mentioned that these women have been trained to rescue individuals from drowning incidents in the sea and canals.
The recruits include women from various parts of rural Sindh, and they received their training in Punjab.
One of the newly appointed female firefighters said, “We are fully equipped and trained to handle any fire emergencies.”
