The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced that India will host the Men’s Asia Cup in 2025, featuring the T20 format while the 2027 Men’s Asia Cup will switch to the ODI format and will be hosted by Bangladesh.
Both tournaments will comprise six teams including, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, and a sixth team determined through a qualifying event.
The next edition of the Women’s Asia Cup set for 2026, will also follow the T20 format. This update was disclosed after the ACC released an Invitation for Expressions of Interest (IEOI) document on Saturday.
The document invites interested parties to submit their proposals for ACC Sponsorship Rights for the 2024 to 2027 period.
It also notes that all tournament details, including schedules, dates, formats, and venues, are tentative and subject to change at the ACC’s discretion without any liability.
In this release, the ACC aims to attract sponsors and ensure the continued growth and success of cricket in the region.
The tournaments are expected to draw significant attention and participation, with teams from across Asia competing for the prestigious titles.
India clinched their eighth Asia Cup title last year in the ODI format. They won the Asia Cup 2023 title by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. The Men in Blue dismantled Sri Lanka as they were bundled out for just 50 runs, their second-lowest score ever in ODIs.
