WhatsApp Will Make Message Reactions Easier and Faster Soon

WhatsApp is bringing a new feature that lets you quickly react to messages by double-tapping them. This is something you can already do on Instagram.

The new feature is being tested on Android phones right now. You need to be part of WhatsApp’s beta testing group to try it out, but it’s hard to get in, as there are a lot of people who want to be testers.

WhatsApp’s new feature lets you quickly react to messages by double-tapping them. This works for regular text messages, photos, videos, and GIFs. It’s faster than long-pressing and then choosing a reaction.

Here is how it looks. Note that the final version may have some differences.

Telegram also works similarly, though that app lets you choose a default option to react to messages with a single tap. In Whatsapp, when you double-tap, you’ll get a heart emoji. If you want a different emoji, you still need to long-press.

You won’t be able to turn off the new double-tap reaction feature on WhatsApp. This could be a problem for people who accidentally react to old messages while scrolling through their chats.

Since the feature is being tested, we can expect it to be available for everyone soon.
