Yet Another TikToker Gets in Trouble for Filming in Police Uniform

A TikToker in Lahore got in trouble for pretending to be a police officer on TikTok. He made videos of himself in a fake police uniform and posted them online. The police saw the videos and arrested him for impersonating an officer.

The TikToker was identified as Hammad and his video was spotted once it went viral. The police took action against Hammad under the instructions of SP Cantonment Awais Shafiq. According to the police, Hammad had been filming and posting his videos in an ASI-ranked police uniform.

The man who pretended to be a police officer is now facing charges, and the police are still looking into the case.

Meanwhile, TikTok says it removed over 20 million videos in Pakistan in the first three months of the year because they broke its rules. The company says it quickly took down almost 94% of the videos in violation of its rules.

TikTok reports that it’s working hard to make its app safe and positive. The report added that TikTok stopped over 166 million videos before posting them. This makes up 9% of all videos shared on the platform.

A substantial portion of these, 129,335,793 videos, were identified and removed through automated detection technologies, while 6,042,287 videos were reinstated upon further review.
