Since Sunday, Karachi has been experiencing intermittent rain, bringing both pleasant weather and several challenges for residents.
The Met department forecasts more rain today, with intermittent showers expected to continue until tomorrow.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz reported the highest rainfall so far at 76mm in Nazimabad and noted that the fifth spell of monsoon is expected to start on August 13.

The rain has caused significant road damage and water accumulation in various parts of Karachi. Major roads in areas such as Malir Kala Board, Liaquatabad, the Airport, Model Colony, Stadium Road, and Nazimabad are experiencing waterlogging, leading to traffic disruptions.
A large pothole near Esa Nagri has led the police to close the road to prevent accidents. The condition of the roads has worsened since yesterday, causing inconvenience for commuters.
Authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel, especially in affected areas. The chief meteorologist advised that the situation would become clearer as the weather system approaches.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a warning on Sunday about the risk of urban flooding in Karachi due to expected heavy rains over the next two days. The advisory emphasized the potential for significant rainfall in the Karachi division until August 6.
The NDMA highlighted that heavy rains could lead to urban flooding in various parts of the city, urging all relevant institutions to take necessary precautions and action. The authority has issued instructions to municipal authorities, emergency services, and other concerned organizations to remain vigilant and prepared for any potential flooding incidents.
