Pakistan Post’s Parcel Booking for US Suspended Since Last Month

The Pakistan Post’s parcel booking service to the United States has been suspended for a month. The suspension has caused major disruptions for e-commerce sellers, leading to order cancellations and affecting the export of Pakistani products to the US market.

According to sources, the suspension is due to unpaid compensation to American shipping companies. However, Pakistan Post has attributed the service halt to issues with inadequate parcel packaging.

This situation has sparked concerns among businesses that depend on international shipping for operations. An inquiry report from the Directorate General of Pakistan Post identified several issues leading to the return of mail from the US, including deficiencies in Electronic Advanced Data (EAD) and incorrect classification of letter mail.

The report highlighted that small-sized registered letters were being sent to the US without proper ITMATT messages or faulty and incomplete ITMATT messages, leading to rejection by USPS. Furthermore, the booking staff often provided incorrect information in mandatory fields.

Small businesses and e-commerce sellers have urged the government to address the issue and restore parcel delivery to the US via Pakistan Post. Meanwhile, services for booking parcels and mail to the UK and other countries remain unaffected.
