Here’s Why Pakistanis Are Facing Difficulties in Getting UAE Visa

Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consul General in Karachi, has highlighted key reasons that might prevent Pakistani citizens from receiving visas to the Gulf nation.

Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi explained that actions on social media, whether sharing or liking posts, can impact visa applications. He added that digital footprints, created by such activities, may lead to visa rejections or bans depending on the content.

The official made these remarks after clarifying that there are no new restrictions on visa issuance for Pakistanis. Earlier, some reports claimed that residents of Sindh were experiencing difficulties in obtaining UAE visas.

The UAE has cautioned Pakistani expatriates in the country against spreading negative propaganda about the nation, its institutions, or its politicians. Dr. Al Remeithi confirmed that several Pakistanis have been arrested, with five of them receiving sentences ranging from 14 to 15 years.

Meanwhile, Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has confirmed that the government is engaged in discussions with UAE authorities concerning the visa restrictions.

In a recent interview, Hussain stated that the top leadership of Pakistan, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is highly concerned about the UAE’s visa restrictions. According to him, the foreign ministry is actively negotiating with UAE officials to address and resolve the issue.
