The Punjab government will launch the Green Electric Bus Service in Layyah on Tuesday, extending its environmentally friendly public transport network to another district.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the service virtually as part of the provincial government’s initiative to modernize public transportation and promote cleaner travel. Layyah is among the districts included in the new transport network.
The district administration has completed preparations for the inauguration ceremony at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Local political leaders and government officials will participate in the event through a video link.
After the virtual inauguration, local authorities will formally launch the bus service with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Officials said the Green Electric Bus Service will provide residents with safer, more comfortable and modern public transportation while reducing environmental pollution and encouraging sustainable urban mobility.
